Open a dynamic QR code and edit its content to change where future scans lead. Link, Email, Phone, SMS, vCard, Application, and WhatsApp records each use fields appropriate to that destination. After saving, scan the existing QR image again. Its visual pattern remains valid because the managed destination changed behind it. Updates do not change visits that already happened, and a disabled or deleted dynamic record cannot redirect new scans.

Update a destination

  1. Find the dynamic code in the QR dashboard.
  2. Open Edit and review its current content type.
  3. Change only the supported destination fields.
  4. Save the record.
  5. Scan the existing downloaded image and confirm the new result.
The QR image points to the managed record, so ordinary destination changes do not require a new pattern. Styling updates change future downloads, not files already printed or saved.

Preserve the content type

Each type has its own payload structure. A phone destination, vCard, and application link are not interchangeable field by field. Use the editor’s current type and validation rather than forcing unsupported values. If you need a fundamentally different content type and the editor does not offer conversion, create a new QR and replace the published image.

Frequently asked questions

Do existing scans change after an edit?

No. The edit affects future resolution and does not rewrite history.

Why does an old download still work?

It points to the same managed record. This is the purpose of a dynamic QR. No. Create an attached QR from that short link instead of creating an internal redirect chain.
