Add Poll in Content to ask visitors a question and record their choices. A poll records votes rather than contact-form responses.

Configure your poll

  1. Enter a poll title and question.
  2. Set Answer type to Choose one or Choose multiple.
  3. Add between two and 20 choices.
  4. Set Show results to After someone votes, Always or Never.
  5. Choose the display and thumbnail.
  6. Publish and test voting from the public page.
  7. Review results through the poll’s results control.
Success means an accepted vote produces the selected results behavior. Multiple-answer polls allow several selections, so choice totals can exceed the number of participating voters.

Know what locks after the first vote

Once voting begins, the question, answer type and choices are locked to keep existing results meaningful. You cannot change what past votes represent by relabeling the choices. Prepare and proofread these fields before launch. If you need a materially different question or answer list, create another poll rather than trying to repurpose recorded votes. Review the actual remaining editable fields separately from the locked voting structure. Questions support 400 characters and each choice 255 characters.

Visitor and results behavior

The results setting controls public display, not whether an accepted vote is stored. Never hides public results; it does not disable the poll. The editor’s results view is different from what visitors are allowed to see. The service checks repeat submissions and browser-based participation. Do not describe this as identity-verified voting or a guarantee of exactly one vote per human. Clearing browser data or using another device can change how a visitor is recognized.

Troubleshoot voting

If a visitor sees a validation message, check whether the poll needs one or multiple answers and whether choices are available. For a browser-identification or rate-limit error, follow the displayed retry instructions rather than repeatedly submitting. An unpublished, hidden or unavailable poll cannot accept normal public participation. Check page access, publish the poll and retest its public URL. Poll votes are not listed as native form contacts.
