# Messaging in Biqli

> Start personal conversations, find your inbox and understand workspace and Biolink entry points.

Open the **Messages** control in Biqli to see recent conversations. Select one to open its chat, or choose **Open Messages** for the full inbox.

## Start a conversation

1. Sign in to your Biqli account.
2. Open Messages and choose **New message**.
3. Select a workspace you belong to.
4. Search for an eligible recipient in that workspace.
5. Select the recipient, write your message and send.
6. Confirm that the message leaves its sending state.

The workspace helps you discover an eligible recipient. It does not make the conversation a workspace-owned inbox. If you have no workspace, the new-recipient picker asks you to join or create one; existing conversations remain available.

Self-messaging and unavailable recipients are not supported. A selected recipient may become unavailable before sending, so handle the actual send result.

## Ownership and access

Conversations are personal to their participants. Switching workspaces does not create separate copies of the same pair's conversation, and workspace owners do not automatically receive access to members' private messages.

An existing conversation can be reused when the same two accounts interact through another entry point, including a [Biolink](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/biolink.md). A visible display name is not proof that two logins belong to the same account.

Personal messaging is not a capability granted to external integrations by a workspace API key. Do not expose account sessions or ask another person to share credentials to access a conversation.

## Choose the right guide

* [Biolink messaging](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/biolink.md): add the block and test visitor authentication.
* [Use conversations](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/using-conversations.md): text, recordings, replies, receipts and presence.
* [Email notifications](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/notifications.md): delivery eligibility and timing.
* [Privacy and conversation controls](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/privacy-controls.md): hide, delete and block.
* [Reporting and moderation](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/reporting.md): evidence and review outcomes.
* [Troubleshooting](https://learn.biq.li/help/messaging/troubleshooting.md): authentication, delivery, permissions and account restrictions.

A private message, native form submission and external WhatsApp/SMS action are different features. Choose the appropriate [Biolink block](https://learn.biq.li/help/links/biolinks/widgets.md) for your goal.
