# Organize links with colored tags

> Create colored tags and use them to organize links.

Tags add a searchable label to related resources without changing their URLs. Create a tag, choose its name and color, then assign it from the link editor or supported bulk actions.

Available colors are Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Gray, Purple, Pink, and Cyan. Use a consistent color convention so filters stay useful across the workspace.

Removing a tag association does not delete the link. Deleting the tag removes the organizational label from associated resources.

## Create and apply a tag

1. Open **Tags** and create a tag with a unique, descriptive name.
2. Choose Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Gray, Purple, Pink, or Cyan.
3. Save it in the current workspace.
4. Attach it from a link editor or supported bulk action.
5. Filter the link list by the tag to confirm the assignment.

Use names such as `Paid social`, `Newsletter`, or `Spring launch` that describe
one consistent dimension. Avoid using color as the only meaning because team
members and exports also rely on the tag name.

Changing a tag's name or color updates the organizational resource without
changing link URLs. Detaching is safe to repeat and does not remove the tag from
other links.

### Can two tags use the same color?

Yes. The name carries the meaning, while color helps recognition.

### Does deleting a tag delete links?

No. It removes the organizational tag and its associations.

### Can an API key attach a tag with Links Write only?

It also needs Tags Read for the referenced tag.
