# Edit, pause, and delete links

> Manage an existing Biqli short link safely.

Open **Links**, find the link, and open its action menu.

## Edit a link

Select **Edit**, change only the fields you need, then save. Updating the
destination keeps the same short URL, link ID, analytics history, and attached
QR code unless you explicitly replace or remove one of those resources.

## Pause a link

Turn off **Active** to stop normal redirection without deleting the link. Turn
it on again when the link should resume. Schedules and expiration rules can also
make an active link temporarily unavailable.

## Delete a link

Select **Delete** and confirm the warning. Deletion removes the short link and
its attached QR relationship. Previously printed or shared copies of that URL
will no longer reach the original destination.

  Deletion is permanent. Pause the link when you may need its URL, settings, or
  analytics later.

## Understand what an edit preserves

Changing the name, destination, settings, or related resources updates the
existing link. Its ID remains the same. The public URL also remains the same
unless you change the domain or alias. Existing analytics stay with the link
unless you deliberately reset them.

Use the link summary after saving to confirm its active state, destination,
password flag, attached folders, tags, pixels, and QR code. Password values are
never displayed after storage.

## When to pause instead of delete

Pause a seasonal campaign, a destination under maintenance, or a link awaiting
approval. Delete only when the short URL and its historical record are no longer
needed. A paused URL can be restored, while a deleted URL should not be treated
as recoverable.

## Troubleshooting an unavailable link

An active toggle is only one availability rule. Also check activation and
expiration dates, click limits, password access, safety status, and audience
targeting. Open the activity history when you need to see whether another member
recently changed the resource.
