# Organize links into collections

> Group links, choose list, grid or carousel layouts and manage collection visibility.

Use collections in **Content** when visitors need related links together, such as releases, services or resources. A collection organizes links; it does not create a separate public Biolink address.

## Build a collection

1. Use the collection action in the content editor to add a group.
2. Enter a collection title that describes its links.
3. Add links within the collection or drag existing links into its drop area.
4. Reorder the links and move the collection to the intended page position.
5. Choose the collection layout and review its media presentation.
6. Publish and check the group on the public page.

Success means the links appear together in the chosen order and each still opens its own destination. Test the whole group on a phone, especially when visitors need to swipe horizontally.

## Choose a layout

| Layout | Visitor experience |
| - | - |
| **List** | Links appear in rows, useful for longer labels |
| **Grid** | Links share rows and give thumbnails more emphasis |
| **Carousel** | Visitors move horizontally through cards |

A collection's layout and a link's individual display settings work together. Check cropping and text after changing either. An empty collection cannot provide a useful set of destinations; add visible links before publishing it.

## Change visibility and membership

Use the collection's card actions to rename, change its thumbnail, hide or remove it. A hidden collection and hidden links are separate visibility choices. Re-showing the group should not be treated as an instruction to reveal links you intentionally hid individually.

When reorganizing, confirm the preview after moving a link between the page and a collection. If a removal confirmation also affects child items, read it before accepting. Undo supported staged edits before publishing when a move or removal was accidental.

Collections are intended for links rather than arbitrary nesting of all block types. Use separate page blocks for media, forms and messaging when those items are not accepted in a collection.

## Troubleshoot a missing link

Check whether the collection is hidden, the individual link is hidden, the order puts it outside the current carousel view, or the destination is unavailable. Publish changes and test the live page rather than relying on the draft card.
