# Use the analytics dashboard and date ranges

> Navigate analytics and select the reporting period you need.

Open **Analytics** from your workspace to see its reporting summary. Choose a preset such as today, the last 7 days, or the last 30 days, or select a custom date range.

Every card and chart on the page follows the selected period. When comparison is available, compare with the preceding period or the same period in the previous year. Keep the same range when comparing two resources so the totals are meaningful.

The dashboard summarizes workspace activity. To investigate one link, folder, Biolink, or QR code, open that resource and view its analytics instead.

## Select and compare a period

1. Open the date control.
2. Choose a preset or enter the custom start and end dates.
3. Apply the range and wait for every card and chart to refresh.
4. Enable a comparison when you need context for the result.
5. Record the selected period before exporting or sharing totals.

The preceding-period comparison uses a period of comparable length immediately
before the selected one. Same-period-last-year compares with the matching
calendar period where supported. Seasonal campaigns are often better compared
year over year than with the immediately preceding days.

Displayed dates follow the applicable workspace or account timezone. API and
export timestamps can include an explicit offset, so compare actual moments
rather than formatted clock text.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why did all cards change together?

The dashboard date control applies to the whole reporting view.

### Why does a comparison look uneven?

Confirm both period lengths, timezone boundaries, and whether the campaign was
active for the full duration.

### Does changing the range delete data?

No. It filters the report.
